"I am interested in the land forms I know so well, in the intricacies of its changing history, the markings, animal trails, fence lines, and energy fields that make up its landscape."
Sarah's work evokes a deep knowledge of place and speaks about an exterior landscape as well as what lies beneath its surface. Walking the land and drawing are closely related in her color and mixed media work. The unseen emerges through her colors to bring forward the sensual worlds of air, temperature, and sound.
Sarah Healey paints in her studio in Big Sur, California, her birthplace. She studied at the West Sussex College of Art and Design and the Sir John Cass Institute, London.
Sarah Healey grew up on Partington Ridge. The daughter of the explorer and Mayan archeologist Giles Healey and British artist Sheila Healey.
Her work is collected internationally.
